no dessert!

Well then....

A strange day really. Had a jolly nice lie in and then faffed around a bit before nipping into town for some shopping and lunch. All rather pleasing and then after lunch I was too full to eat any cake!! I hear the gasps from here! Yes. Too full for cake. I was a bit stunned really.

Then. This evening I ended up staying in. Not sure why really. I didn't actually want to but all of our friends are away doing various other things and so there we sat in front of the TV. I was soooooooo bored. I haven't felt like that since I was a moody teenager! I even turned down chocolate ice cream, being too busy with exuding boredom. In fact the only cake that I experienced this evening was the film "LayerCake". It was fairly good and took the pointy corners off the dullness of the evening. I feel a bit agrieved about it and I can't really explain why. I think it's because I haven't been out on the town for a few weeks and I'm feeling restless that I haven't done anything with my weekend. Yawn. I'm even too bored to go to bed - hoping that a bit of excitement may crop up between my pc and my bed. It's unlikely - unless I find a doorway at the back of the wardrobe that leads to a land of unlimited jaffa cakes, or some big geezer with a beard lands in the living room to tell me that I'm late at school, where at the best wizarding facility in the country I've been expected to start my studies for the last 25 years, but that it's ok as I can do it at Open University....

Hmmm.

Lemon Meringue Pie

Erm....

I'm really bad at blogging all of a sudden. I've neglected it. I've been useless.

I shall endeavour to be better. Honest.

Well, well, well... what's been happening. Lots really. I was recently in Hong Kong for work. I ate much cake! After a shaky start - I had to depart on the day of the London tube bombings - I felt homesick, which is v unusual, probably because of the awful events of the day I wanted to stay home and be with/be close to my friends/family.

Hong Kong was steaming hot but a bit rainy and wet. For those who haven't been there - you should! It's an amazing place and just being there is quite exciting - kind of like New York has it's own buzz, Hong Kong has it's own little vibe too.

Every day was punctuated by a vast lunch buffet which made my eyes pop (and eventually my trousers - so much cake!). It really was so big it took me all week to get around it and try everything! A highlight was a melted chocolate fountain which I spent quite some time thrusting chunks of fruit on sticks into. It was like being in a scene from Willy Wonka!

Back in the UK now and trying to eat sensibly but a profusion of work related events has lead me to consume even more cookies, cake and some rather special macaroons....

*sigh* Now feeling quite full and sleepy. Aah me. Oh to be a man of leisure. Probably best that I'm not or I'd be living in elasticated trousers to cope with over consumption of anything that tastes good....
